The Author's Technique, Pitfalls, Tips, and Tricks
This video shows the optimal aortic cross-clamping in resuscitative thoracotomy. Errors are common for wrong application and subsequent failure in a situation where every second counts particularly in patients in extremis. To be successful, all these moves should be perfectly performed in a fast but correct fashion within 2–3 min before cerebral ischemia is established. [Additional file 1]
